| Overview |
Responsible for installation, test, turn up, of all central office, master control, remote network backbone equipment pertaining to Enterprise Data, Wholesale voice / data, and Retail MDU, MTU, and SDU areas. Responsible for enterprise customer premise equipment installation, testing, activation and trouble repair calls for Enterprise customers by monitoring and completing all new, change, and disconnect orders on or before the due dates in Cronus workflow calender. |
| Responsibilities |
- Install, turn-up and maintain all analog, digital and optical devices, at all hub sites and remote sites. This includes coordinating with the engineering departments to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies needed to complete assigned work has been ordered and/or delivered, inserting new or removing equipment into or from existing Optical rings, ensuring all facilities and equipment are alarm free daily, trending all alarms identifying repeat alarms and provide root cause analysis on all outages and repeat alarms.
- Perform weekly, monthly and quarterly maintenance on all equipment. This includes, but not limited to, grounds maintenance, house keeping (site interior cleaned, equipment and filters cleaned), testing all telephony facilities designated as “bad” and providing reporting on all findings and/or corrections.
- Install, turn-up and test Commercial/Enterprise (OC-XX, DS3-DS0) work orders. Work all circuit troubles on facility and equipment to include any necessary maintenance windows required. Complete all required maintenance notification and Method of Procedure forms. Include a detailed description of work to be performed, potential degradation and/or outage duration and back-out procedures.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned tools, test equipment and vehicles. Maintain an accurate inventory of all spare equipment associated with the analog, digital and optical equipment to ensure critical spares are maintained. Provide a written inventory of tools and test equipment, noting any worn out, damaged or missing items semi-annually. Complete monthly vehicle inspections to be turned by the first business day of each month. Complete monthly critical spare inventory report.
- Respond to all outages and degradations within two hours of notification. Provide hourly updates to the Network Operations Center, supervisor on-call and manager. Provide a detailed Reason For Outage form to manager after services have been restored.
- Complete all CRONUS and OMNIA orders on or before their due dates. Keep comments updated with the status of the order, especially on any orders that could potentially miss the due date. Record all test results and any additional customer contact information in the comments prior to completing the order.
- 7X24 support on an as needed basis to include an on-call rotation. Provide a detailed report of all after hours call outs. Report should include reason for call out, Remedy and/or CSG ticket number, trouble resolution and duration of time spent resolving trouble. |
